5 Ingredients Pumpkin Dog Treats, By: Cathy Schultz, December 5, 2014 – Cross Posted in Desserts
The “original recipe” is located in Desserts. This recipe uses just enough batter from that recipe to make 12 mini treats.
Ingredients:
1 yellow cake mix
1 Tbs. pumpkin pie spice
1 can pumpkin
1 cup dried cranberries
Directions:
Mix all together, dog treats are in mini cupcake pan that fits the Ninja holds 12. Turn your Ninja to 350°. Place your rack and mini pan. Do not add water. Bake for 20 minutes. They could have been baked longer to make them crispy. (Dessert File) - Place the remainder of the batter in the Ninja multipurpose pan. Place on the rack. Turn your Ninja Oven setting to 350°. Do not add water. Bake for about 50 minutes.

Chicken Dog Food*, By: Michelle Painter Williams, April 10, 2016
Since the four dogs ate all the turkey dog food from a few days ago, it was time to make more! This time it’s our normal chicken food. We use chicken leg quarters. I normally remove all visible fat and skin. This time I left the skin on two pieces because it’s the only way I can get Benedryl into one of the dogs, it has to be so tasty he won't slow down to find the pill. If you need a low fat diet feel free to use boneless skinless chicken.
Ingredients:
4 chicken leg quarters
3-4 large carrots roughly cubed
2 celery stalks cut into fourths
15-18 little potatoes - (I use these because it saves time cutting up potatoes but u can use any type of potato I'd say several medium or a couple really large russets. You can peel or not)
1 apple, cored and cut into a few pieces
1 sweet potato roughly cubed
2 bay leaves
3 parsnips roughly cubed- I peeled these as they were looking a bit old, I also cut out any bad spots. I don't always have these on hand. I often add peas or spinach depends on what I have on hand.
Directions:
Add all of the veggies to the Ninja pot. Top with chicken pieces and bay leaves. Fill the Ninja with water. Turn the Ninja to Slow Cook Low for 8 hours.
Remove the bay leaves and chicken pieces. When cooled pull the meat from the bone, (I save these bones in the freezer to make broth with). Using an immersion blender, puree the veggies. Stir the pulled chicken into the veggies. Pour into a large storage container or into Ziploc bags if you need to freeze smaller portions. This feeds four dogs three small meals a day for three days. It is an extra topping for their dry kibble. Not meant to be the only food they eat.

Chow Hound Blue Plate Special, By: Betty Link Jordan, November 8, 2014
I take a big 5 qt. soup pot (and could use my Ninja but it's usually "busy") and I add 2 cans of mixed veggies, about 3 cups brown rice, a tub of chicken livers (I think it's 16 oz) and fill with water to almost the top and simmer and stir till the rice is done and liquid reduced. Sometimes I substitute ground chicken or turkey and sometimes I make two pots and use ½ livers and ½ package turkey / chicken in each one. I also often add chopped collard greens for anti-oxidents and sometimes I add a can of smashed sweet potatoes (not in syrup). The basic recipe is always the same but I vary it a little with the greens or sweet potatoes sometimes. They love it - and vet approved it as "healthy" for them. I think I will add some collard greens next time as well

Doggie Treats*, By: Dena Marie Tehel, July 22, 2014
Ingredients:
3-4 cups all purpose flour
4 large eggs
A couple heaps of peanut butter
milk, (or yogurt)
julienned carrots, (optional)
oatmeal, (optional)
Directions:
Use Ninja Oven setting of 350°. Bake on Ninja rack until crisp, turning if necessary. Depending on the size treat will determine the baking time.
Mix flour, eggs, peanut butter and enough milk to make it a biscuit dough consistency. Sometimes I substitute yogurt in place of the milk. You can also add julienned carrots or oatmeal.
I took pieces off and flattened them in my hand. The greasiness of the peanut butter keeps it from sticking. If it does stick they may need more flour.
I don't do the wheat flour because my dogs do well with all purpose. Sorry I don't have anything exact. I'm a dumper, lol except when I'm trying to actually bake.
**Added comment by: Aurelia Dougan McCollom – It is a possibility to use the same Oven setting of 350°, but fix directly on the bottom of the pot, turning as necessary as not to burn, but it should crisp up faster.

Gobble Gobble Casserole, By: Barbara Callahan, November 8, 2014
No seasonings...they are all on pollock oil supplements, glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, herbal ligament supplement for my girl and muscular supplement for my old man.
Ingredients:
Turkey
broth
3 cans no salt greens beans
box of brown rice (Minute)
½ pack carrots
Directions:
This was browned turkey then added broth, 3 cans no salt greens beans, a box of brown rice (Minute) and 1/2 pack carrots, cooked on Stove Top High for 5 - 7 minutes, then reduced to low to simmer a little more. I am going to check with their vet to see if she thinks adding garlic would be a benefit....
Collard greens can also be added.
When I do the turkey parts, I simmer them until they are done, then remove and use the stock to cook the rice, beans, carrots. When I use ground turkey, I brown the turkey, then add some bought stock to simmer the rice, veggies and the browned turkey. I prefer the turkey parts, but I am not going to pay 2.99 a lb for thighs or drumsticks when most of the weight is in the bones!
**Added comment –
So my Ninja family that uses it to feed their pet children, here's a twist on my Gobble Gobble stew. This time I used 2 lbs frozen ground turkey (only because I was a neglectful mom and forgot to defrost!) Once browned and had liquid, I added 4 small sweet potatoes sliced with skin on, and about a cup of unsalted broth. When potatoes were tender, I added ½ package of crinkle cut carrots, 2 cans unsalted green beans, about 1.5 cups quinoa. I did not drain the beans I used the juice. Finally, I added about another ¼ cup unsalted chicken broth and about 2 cups chopped kale. I’m hoping the kids like it as much as the original version.
** added comment - 1.25 lbs turkey browned, add one cut up sweet potato, cup and one half baby carrots, 32 oz chicken broth (low salt) or veggie, ½ package of whole wheat penne, 2 cans green beans undrained and couple of handfuls kale. After the turkey browns, I throw everything in on Stove Top Medium and let it cook until there is little liquid. I used to use brown rice, but my girl decided she didn't like it and with 3 dogs, I do not run a cafeteria. I also add a tablespoon of tumeric & thyme because they are anti-inflammatory & my kids are not pups anymore (either is there mom!)

Healthy Dinner for your 4 Legged Friends, By: Cathy Schultz, February 25, 2015
I thank God for this page. Last night I looked in the files and found a recipe under the pets listing and using what I had in my freezer & cabinets I was able to make a healthy food for them. I used ¼ turkey that I cooked in the Ninja over night then used my hands to ensure there was no bones or grizzle pieces. I then added about 2 cups long grain rice, 1 bag frozen California style vegetables. Cook on Slow cook Low for 4 hours. (California style veggies: broccoli, carrots, & cauliflower)

'On It On It'*, By: Michelle Painter Williams, April 6, 2016
Here is our latest batch of dog food. This is used as a topping with their dry food. We feed them 3 small meals a day. That came from having a dog with Cushings that felt hungry all the time, so we tried to keep her tummy full.
I picked the meat off the turkey carcass. (I usually I use chicken leg quarters or beef neck bones). I also often leave the meat chunky and only purée the veggies and then stir in the meat. But the carcass meat was such tiny pieces I cooked it with the veggies and puréed it all. Some dogs will eat chunkier veggies but most of mine prefer it puréed.
Ingredients:
turkey carcass, chicken leg quarters or beef neck bones
3 carrots
1sweet potato
1parsnip
15 small potatoes
2-3 celery stalks
Directions:
I stirred in the meat and filled the Ninja with water. Turn the Ninja to Slow Cook Low for 8 hours. I let it cool and used and immersion blender.
This made a bit more food than usual. It will last 4 days for four dogs; fed three times a day.

Peanut Butter Popsicles
Serves a family's worth of dogs
1 cup peanut butter, preferably unsalted and unsweetened
Half a ripe banana, mashed
Water as needed
In a small mixing bowl, combine peanut butter with a little water or half a mashed banana. The water and banana aren't essential, but they help with freezing consistency.
Line an ice cube tray or cookie sheet with wax paper. (You don't have to use the paper, but it can make prying the cubes out easier.)
Spoon the mixture into the cubes, or drop onto the tray just like you would cookie dough. Freeze for several hours or overnight. If you need to reuse the tray right away, pop out the cubes and store them in a bag or container in the freezer.
Serve, and turn any hot dog into a happy camper.

I dry sweet potatoes in the oven for a chewy treat. Cut in strips, coat in a little olive oil and place on racks for 8-12 hours on lowest temp.
